Introducing SureFax 

SureFax allows you to use your mobile phone to receive and store faxes electronically in a mailbox and divert them to a fax machine anywhere within Australia.



Features and Benefits 

Our SureFax service is an additional option to the basic Voicemail service and offers you the convenience of having a mobile fax machine without additional equipment. SureFaxes can be received from and sent to any location in the world.

As we become increasingly mobile it's sometimes difficult to wait around the office for that important fax. If you're always on the run then our SureFax service is ideal for you!

Activating this Service 

To activate the SureFax service please call us on our Customer Care number for assistance.

  • When you choose our SureFax service, we will give you your own personal SureFax dedicated number. Give this number to all your friends, family, colleagues and clients.


Using this Service 

Your SureFax and Voicemail services are linked. When a Fax arrives, a MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) will appear on your mobile phone's display letting you know in just the same way as your Voicemail service.


Receiving faxes  

People send faxes directly to your SureFax number as they would to a normal fax machine.

  • The Voicemail system places received SureFax messages into your normal Voicemail box where they can be diverted to any fax machine for printing.

Retrieving SureFax messages from your Mobile Phone  

Simply dial 321 from your mobile phone and follow the voice prompts.

The voice prompt will welcome you and inform you that you have "x new faxes and x saved faxes".

You will then be told the number of pages, the time and date of the first SureFax in your Voicemail box. The voice prompt will offer you the following options:

  • "To print this fax, press 6"
  • "To save, press 5" ("Message saved")
  • "To delete, press 3" ("Message deleted")
  • "To print all, press 8 twice"
  • "To pause, press 1"
  • "For Help, press 0"
  • "To return to the main menu, press 9"

To print this SureFax  

"To print this fax, press 6"

  • "To enter the destination, press 3"
    • "Please enter the fax number including area code, then press hash"
    • "You have entered (fax machine number)"
    • "To re-enter the number, press 2"
    • "To send, press 6"
    • "To schedule a time for fax printing, press 3"
    • "To cancel, press the star key"
  • Calling from a fax machine: "If you're calling from a fax machine, to print the fax now, press 2"

To print all SureFaxes  

"To print all, press 8 twice"

  • "Please enter the fax number including area code, then press hash"
    • Enter fax machine number, then:
    • "If the number is correct, press 1" ("Your fax will be delivered shortly")
    • "To re-enter the number, press 2"
    • "To send, press 6"
    • "To schedule a time for fax printing, press 3"
    • "To cancel, press the star key"
  • "To use your personal autofax number, press hash" ("Your fax will be delivered shortly")

Schedule a time for SureFax printing  

"To schedule a time for fax printing, press 3"

  • "The time is now: 00:00:00 am/pm"
  • "Enter the time of day to print this fax, then press 2 for am or 7 for pm"
  • "To end, press hash"
    • "For delivery today, press hash"
    • "For delivery at a future date, enter 2 digits for the day and 2 digits for the month, then press hash"
    • "Your message will be delivered at: 00:00:00 am/pm date"
    • "If correct, press hash" ("Message sent")
    • "To re-enter, press 2"

Setting up Automatic SureFax Delivery  

Automatic delivery enables you to divert all SureFaxes straight through to a fax number of your choice.

Simply dial 321 from your mobile phone and follow the voice prompts. The voice prompt will welcome you and inform you that you have "x new faxes and x saved faxes".

From the voice prompt menus, choose the following options and follow the instructions. Make certain you enter the autofax number, schedule and type:

  • "For user options, press 8"
  • "For automatic fax transfer, press 6"
  • You will hear that your mailbox is not auto transferring your faxes, and "You are at the autofax transfer menu"
  • "For your personal autofax number, press 2"
    • "Please enter the fax number including area code, then press hash"
    • Enter fax machine number as explained in 'To print this fax' in 'Using this service' section of the factsheet.
  • You will be returned to the autofax transfer menu: "You are at the autofax transfer menu".
    • "For schedule, press 3"
    • "For delivery to your personal autofax number at all times, press hash"
    • "For scheduled auto transfer enter the time of day to begin, then press 2 for am or 7 for pm"
    • Enter schedule time as explained in 'To schedule a time for fax printing' in 'Using this service' section of the factsheet.
    • You will again be returned to the autofax transfer menu: "You are at the autofax transfer menu".
    • "For type, press 4"
    • "To auto transfer non confidential faxes, press 2"
    • "To auto transfer all, press 3"
    • "To auto transfer none, press 4"
  • You will again be returned to the autofax transfer menu: "You are at the autofax transfer menu".
  • "To exit system, press 9"
    • If you have followed all instructions, you will hear the following status of your auto transfer function: "Your mailbox will auto transfer _ _ _ your faxes to _ _ _ at _ _ _ times"
    • If you hear a message stating your auto transfer function has not been set up correctly, follow the instructions again from the beginning making certain you have entered the autofax number, schedule and type.

Saving and deleting SureFax messages  

You can store up to 20 SureFax and voice messages in your Voicemail box at any one time.

After sending your SureFaxes to a fax machine for printing, you are given the option of saving the SureFax message by pressing 5 or deleting the SureFax message by pressing 3.

  • Once SureFax messages have been printed and saved for 7 days, they are automatically deleted from the Network.
  • If SureFaxes are not printed or saved, they are automatically deleted from the Network after being stored for 14 days.

  • To cancel your SureFax Service please call us on our Customer Care number for assistance.


Costs of Using this Service 

There is no charge to deposit SureFaxes; you only pay when you retrieve them.

  • The SureFax service has a monthly subscription fee of $5.50.
  • SureFax retrievals from your mobile phone incur your usual Voicemail retrieval rates.
  • "Automatic Fax Delivery" is charged at your usual call rates.

Viewing your service charges on your Bill  

Your SureFax Service monthly subscription is shown under ‘Charges this bill’ along with your mobile service access fees and other monthly charges.

Because your SureFax and Voicemail services are linked, SureFax deposits and retrievals are itemised on your Bill as Voicemail deposits and retrievals.

  • All SureFaxes are listed within your itemised Calls and are clearly identified as Voicemail deposit or retrieval call type under the Number Dialled column.

Here are some frequently asked questions about the SureFax service. For assistance please use the "Contact Us" section of our website or call our Customer Care number.

Can I have SureFax without having Voicemail?

  • Yes, you can. Take the diversions to Voicemail off your mobile phone. These may be found in your message settings menu on your mobile phone, or check your mobile phone user manual for specific instructions.
  • If you want to take Voicemail off permanently, contact us and we will do this for you.

Faxes are being sent to me, but they're not arriving!

  • Check your mobile phone diversion settings are correct.
  • Have you deleted your old SureFaxes? Your inbox has a limited capacity to store SureFaxes and some less important SureFaxes may need to be discarded.
  • Are you currently in a coverage area? Check the coverage bars on your mobile phone's display.

Can I set up my SureFax service to print my faxes automatically without having to dial up my Voicemail?

  • Yes. You do this by setting up Automatic Fax Delivery. Please refer to the 'Using this Service' section of this factsheet.
