Troubleshooting this Service

Troubleshooting Tips

Here are some frequently asked questions about the Abbreviated Dialling service. If you have any problems, please call us on our Customer Care number for assistance.

Why can’t I allocate the number ‘1’ as an Abbreviated Dialling number?

  • The number ‘1’ is reserved for other telephone services.

Why do I have to switch Call Control off?

  • Abbreviated Dialling numbers cannot be entered whilst Call Control is switched on. Call Control must be turned off temporarily while creating or changing Abbreviated Dialling numbers. Once the numbers have been created, Call Control can be switched on again.

Will Abbreviated Dialling allow me to dial numbers barred by my Call Control settings?

  • Yes. Abbreviated Dialling overrides Call Control. If Call Control restrictions prevent a number from being dialled, it can still be accessed via Abbreviated Dialling.
